As part of their collaboration, Southend photographer Maria Hickey and local poet Pablo Giles are showing some new videography work at Basildon Festival Leisure Park.
The video shown on a loop at all times and it is a creative documentation of Pablo's and Maria's exhibition Verses & Waves. Pablo has a long-standing relationship with the ever-changing Estuary and has created site-specific poetic pieces with the aid of Maria's photography. Living by the Estuary inspired Maria's photographs which capture the serenity of the local landscape.
The artists will be available to meet the audience at the Basildon Leisure Park's market on Sat 14 June, where you will be able to purchase their merchandise, photography, artwork and poetry.
Pablo and Maria recently held an exhibition with poetry readings by Pablo at 'Up The Road' cocktail lounge in Westcliff between Friday 17th January 2025- Saturday 1st February 2025. The exhibition was a success and on the closing party they raised money for charity with a raffle.
