Samantha Penn is an independent practice based researcher who since 2016 has researched washing machines as influential but unnoticed agents of cultural and technical change. Some of her ongoing washing machine research is documented in the Critical Makers Reader, published by Institute of Network Cultures in 2019.
She has worked with a number of artists and projects including MilesKM, Compiler, YoHa, Katie Hawkins, Kombajn and POST Artists’ Network.
